A Shepherd Committed to God’s Word
Rev. Michael Smith, Jr. serves as Senior Pastor of Pine Hills Free Will Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama. He is committed to faithfully expounding Scripture, preaching Jesus Christ, and shepherding God’s people with biblical conviction, pastoral compassion, and a desire for spiritual renewal.
Pastor Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry Studies from the Baptist University of Florida, with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. His ministry reflects a deep interest in biblical theology, evangelism, discipleship, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church.
His preaching seeks to explain the meaning of Scripture in its original context while bringing clear and practical application to the challenges Christians face today. He carries a particular burden for revival, prayer, spiritual awakening, and helping believers grow in holiness and maturity in Christ.
Pastor Michael also ministers to those seeking freedom from spiritual bondage through biblically grounded pastoral care and prayer, always emphasizing the authority of Jesus Christ and the transforming power of the Gospel.
He and his wife, Holly, have been married for more than twenty years and are blessed with three children. Together, they are grateful to serve the Pine Hills church family as the church continues proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, and exalting Jesus Christ throughout the Wiregrass region and beyond.
